Multipurpose Space
How to work, rest and play in the same space.
Not a novel idea but more and more pertinent to modern living, especially now we often use our homes as offices, at least some of the time.
Here are some considerations:
It’s about efficiency - does that spare room only need to be used by the occasional guest? A dining room is never used during the day (or even during the week) and a sitting room doesn’t need to reserved for.. err, sitting.
Think outside the box - literally. large storage spaces can incorporate fold out desks and are rarely properly utilised, if you can’t easily access something that’s stored (because of everything else stored around it), then think pullouts, pull downs and corner pull rounds.
Don’t forget the future - there’s no point in solving a temporary problem with a permanent solution, teenagers are in the habit of leaving home (eventually) and televisions only get larger. That second point is particularly relevant if you’ve been around as long as I have, but I have clients who insist their 50” 120hz 4K beauty will see them out. (Spoiler alert, it won’t). I also regret all the time I’ve spent adding shelves for DVD’s, remember those - from about 2020?
Bespoke is the answer - that was probably obvious if you’re reading this on a bespoke furniture designers website! Let me help you design something that works for you, you can have literally anything that physics allows, made from any material that suits your style and environment - all my designs start with a blank piece of paper (or CAD file to be precise), I don’t re-size existing designs so you get exactly what you need -and I’m happy to revise and amend until you’re happy.
Give me call or drop me an email now, I’m always happy to chat and I can usually give a reasonable estimate before I visit - you might be surprised at how cost effective a bespoke solution can be, even when compared to ready made furniture.
